in the autumn i thought i loved you

as we both fell against the wet green grass

come winter

our love will be colder

a frostbitten afternoon of delight

oh hail hail to you who speak so clearly now

how i am indebted to your soft simple way

go now go now and be born anew

for love and hatred tend to be the same

this love will be the end of me i am sure

because i cannot shake you from my dreams

six trees and three birds sing the song of laughter, innocence

and the beauty, my God the beauty of the sea

return this way precious and be dealt with and be saved

for as long as you travel longer dear

you are sending me to my rightful grave...

beautiful things seen within the past week

...a penguin trying to swim through the glass barrier of his/her tank

...a dragonfly landing on my water bottle opening

...children laughing and screaming in a HUGE water puddle

...a two year old asian girl chasing sea gulls

...a span of clouds with an awesome shade of pink made possible by the setting sun

...a bird being carried through the air, half uncontrolably, while sigur ros sifted through the speakers...

oh my sin-
yes the bliss
of this glorious thought-
my sin
not in part
but the whole
was nailed to the cross
and I bear it no more

is anyone ever certain of untangible things? Can i really know that Christ is divine? Not merely believe but know. Do I even need to know?

I enjoy this time of my life even though it is probably the most difficult process I have ever been through. I have had some of the best conversations in the last few days with some of my friends. If you ever get the opportunity to discuss the concepts of God (discuss, not witness to) with people of other faiths, or no faith at all, I suggest you do it because all of those ideas we have in our head sound a whole lot different jumping out of our mouths. Something for the church to think about: Some people just don't want to believe in God and/or Christ. Solution: Accept it! Even though they don't want God they still need love, shelter, food, etc. And, in giving these things, aren't we giving them God as well? Just in a different format...i guess. Recently I have come to terms with the fact that not evetyone is going to accept grace and truth through Christ. Period. Yet we are still called to love God and love people. If  the church truly did this, would people be that enraged with Christianity? So I would advise the church to hold off on the steeple renovation and maybe take some time to actually get to know their hopeful converts

what the hell!?

really...what the hell is going on in this crazy place we call a world? does any one else have this fantastic feeling of despair? how much longer are we going to last? let me tell you all something...this isn't about politics so snap out of it! this is about people and respect and love and we are lagging far behind. maybe we will be blessed enough to go through another Depression and finally have something tangible to open our eyes and give us another shot at doing things right. thats right i said ANOTHER Depression. we had one almost seventy years ago but i realize how hard it is to pay attention to history. i mean if our leaders don't do it then why should we, right? the main thing to remember is that if we ended this occupation this week, we wouldn't really think about it too much and over the next five years or so it would just be an "oh yeah" effect. the rest of the world doesn't work that way...they remember...they always remember...

here's hoping we speak tomorrow
but let's not forget the beauty of today
i spend my time fighting for my freedom
but my freedom pushes the world away
